This page describes how to install this recovery

Requiremenents

To install recovery you need to have acer driver installed. You will find them here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E5PTHL3O

• So install drivers and reboot your computer
• Boot phone in normal mode
• Activate usb debugging in Settings/Applications/Developpement
• Plug your phone to computer via usb

Without these requirements you won't be able to install

Installation

You can install in different ways, choose your favorite one (I will provide another later)

Easy installer

From downloads page

• Downlad the "InstallMalezRecovery_x.x.x_FULL.exe"(one step installer) : click on InstallMalezRecovery_x.x.x_FULL.exe and follow instructions.

or

• Download "installMalezRecovery_x.x.x_SCRIPT.zip" (two steps installer).
• Unzip the archive
• run install_malez_recovery.cmd and follow instructions. (if you are under linux/mac sh install_malez_recovery_lix.sh or install_malez_recovery_mac.sh

Manual install (how to use adb)

• On your computer
• copy recovery image to your androidsdk/tools/ folder
• go in cmd (if you are under windows) or terminal (under linux)
• cd androidsdk/tools/
• adb reboot bootloader
• fastboot -i 0x0502 flash recovery malezRecovery_XX.img

sending 'recovery' (4876 KB)... OKAY writing 'recovery'... OKAY

• fastboot -i 0x0502 reboot

Enter in recovery mode

To enter recovery :

• adb reboot recovery
• quickboot apps available on market and included in LCR rom
• button combo

Button combo

Out of box version to 1.000.8

• power off the phone
• hit volume - + camera + power

From 2.000.16 to liquid E (included latest acer's android 1.6 or 2.1 official update)

• power off the phone and unplug usb
• hit camera + volume down and without releasing them hit power button (the phone will vibrate 3 times)
• release
• (in old versions you needed to press the power button after but that is not needed anymore)

Enter recovery utilities background menu

All usefull tools are available via the main menu on the phone but if you want to have more details on operations (specially when an operation fails) you can acces the background menu

• Connect usb
• Boot in recovery
• From computer adb shell (enter) malez (enter)

If need any help, don't forget to copy recovery log to sd and send it.
